JESSE NICKELL
Classical Painter
Statement
My work grapples with the human condition and experience. Based around the premise of a broken world, my paintings capture the quiet interiors of raw human nature. Visualizing a world on the verge of falling apart, the subjects are left in uniquely pivotal instances. Focusing on events leading up to and in the wake of tragic circumstances, the work contemplates the necessity of perseverance and hope in the midst of tragedy.
